Blackmagic Design has published a new banner on their website promoting DaVinci Resolve 16 with the tag line ‘The revolution in editing starts at 9 AM PDT on April 8th 2019.’
We’ll be at the Blackmagic Design press conference so make sure to tune in to find out what revolutionary new features will be available in Davinci Resolve Studio & the free version.
DaVinci Resolve 15 was first released in 2018 which integrated Fusion compositing right into the app. It is currently at version 15.3.
The wish list for this new release is mostly to do with Audio Support in the Fusion Page. My personal experience is editing on Davinci Resolve 15 is not as fluid as in FCP. My workflow still starts in FCP and then I take it to Resolve for Color Grading. Also not a fan of the Fairlight page. The Fairlight software used to be great 10years ago, but now with Pro Tools, Cubase and Logic making the rounds I feel the Audio experience in Fairlight is still a lot compromised. Let’s wait and watch till tomorrow to see what they have to offer in this new version.
